HVIC Coating

HVIC Coating

Moniran Niroo Sanat`s high voltage insulator coating (HVIC) is a single-component, room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) formulation. As an RTV silicone coating, it exhibits strong hydrophobic and ultraviolet resistant properties. The hydrophobic surface generated by the coating is able to prevent the formation of continuous water films. It also encapsulates airborne contaminants upon contact. By rendering both water and pollution discontinuous, the coating eliminates the conditions necessary for an ionic conductive solution to form. Consequently, the RTV coating effectively avoids leakage currents, erosion tracking, and flashovers that typically arise due to surface contamination. Proper application of the HVIC protects insulators by disrupting the conduction pathways that lead to pollution flashover events.
